Statewide Beef Bash

Friday May 5th - Sunday May 7th

We are excited to offer a fun and educational weekend opportunity for any youth interested in beef in grades 9th – 12th.

Join us in Ames for our third annual Beef Bash.  We will be staying at the Best Western Hotel.

We will start our weekend on Friday night at Isaiah Shnurman’s ranch for an ultra-sounding demonstration, a tour of his cattle including bucking stock and donor cows and bull stud. The Madison County Cattlemen will provide supper for us.

Saturday will be a full day of tours including the Iowa State University Meat lab and the campus. ISU judging team coach Chris Cassidy will be giving a judging demonstration as well how to select for breeding animals. We will visit a cow/calf producer, a feedlot, and tour Nichols Cryogenics bull stud.

There will also be sessions to help you become a great beef advocate as well as information on the hot topics facing the cattle industry.

Registration and check-in will begin on Friday, May 5th at the hotel at 6:00 pm. We’ll then load up and head out to Shnurman’s. We finish on Sunday with BQA sessions, marketing strategies, leadership building and career discussions.

We are limiting participants to 30 so get your registrations in.  Registration deadline is April 15th.  You can access the registration form on our website HERE or call/email Mary at 641-425-1533 or
